MOTHS IN MAY

We have recently set up a moth trap in our garden in Plymouth.

This is what we have found in May.

 

2008 May 2nd

Garden Carpet

This is a Least Black Arches

Nola Confusalis

Three Common Quakers

but none of them matching. This one is quite worn.
Whilst this one has scales missing on the thorax.
This one was quite a different shade of brown. Even when they were together it was difficult to recognise that they were the same species.

We hadn't put the trap out because of the weather. But these came into the house, attracted by a blue tinted lightbulb in one of the rooms .
