MOTHS IN JUNE

In 2008 we set up a moth trap in our garden in Plymouth.

This is what we have found in the month of June - not yet all positively identified.

2008 June 7th ( National Moth Day)

Not a particularly good night for moths. It was quite windy in our garden, so, even though the trap was in the most sheltered place, there was not a great deal flying that night.

We found one Brimstone Moth, which flew off in disgust when the camera was pointed at him.

We think this to be a Dark Sword - Grass Agrotis ipsilon (2091)

As usual when we carefully opened the trap lots of Brimstone moths escaped being unwilling to wait for a Model Release Form.
