A Walk in January

Field Two is very marshy at the western side but it is the best example we have of Culm Grassland
The Purple Moor grass has died back and is a rich straw colour
 
At this time of the year the deer tracks stand out quite clearly.

The open aspect of the woodland allows the winter light to slide in under the tree canopy.
