THE FUNGI

PAGE TWO

Here are some more examples of fungi from around our land

This is Brain Fungus (Tremella Foliacea)and was found in the fourth field growing on a tree stump.

This is Candle-snuff fungus ( Xylaria hypoxylon) which is quite widespread

Porcelain Fungus (Oudemansiella Mucida)

This can be found on the beech trees in various places. It is so called because its top is very smooth and shiny and looks like porcelain. It is sometimes called the Poached Egg Fungus.

This is Exidia Thuretiana and we found it amongst some leaves in a ditch, semi-submerged in water.
