A WALK IN APRIL

We won't use the old saying about the kissing season again, but the gorse flower really is magnificent at this time of the year. It has such a heady perfume as well.

By the end of the month , the buds are appearing on the trees..

The trees in the ride are beginning to show a slight tinge of green, but be careful, it's still quite soggy underfoot.

If you look into the puddles you can see a naturally occurring oily film on the water.

We don't know how true it is but a local farmer tells us that the Culm measures are rich in oil!!

Now it's time to move on to the second field, turn left here and you can walk through our picnic woods or, if you prefer, cut straight into the field a bit further down the ride.
